Message from Robert J Kane
I took up photography as a way to get myself outdoors more often, and to help deal with the stressors of daily life. I have grown to love nature and wild life in all of its seasons and forms. I’m just a comfortable sitting in a field waiting for an owl in the middle of February as I am sitting on a warm beach watching the gulls. Photography for me is a way of capturing some of the experiences I have had and this website is a way to share them with others. I guess you can call my photos memories to be shared. I have seen stuff that the average person may not, like an osprey snatching a fish from a stream or a coyote wandering a field in an urban area. I no longer take anything in nature for granted, nature is amazing.
I was born in Labrador City, NFLD but grew up in Thunder Bay, ON after a brief stay in Valleyfield, PQ. I now call Hamilton Ontario my home. Hamilton is for me the center of the nature photographer’s universe in southern Ontario. There is an abundant of wild life and nature areas to explore. The Niagara escarpment provides a dramatic setting with its water falls and valleys. The area is a nature lover’s paradise.
The photos in these galleries may not be the best photos in the world but have significant value to me. Enjoy and feel free to ask any questions or leave comments. If you are using a guest account please leave your name and e-mail if you like, you can even leave the message as private so that I am the only one that can see it.
Enjoy
