Upon retirement in 2003 I decided to pursue nature photography as a retirement pastime. It suddenly became an expensive passion (or obsession) because I am seldom satisfied. I am into my 5th digital SLR. My current camera is a Nikon D850. Initially, I started with a 70-300mm lens which proved to be not enough lens in the birding world. Finally I broke down and bought a Nikkor 500mm lens. Although somewhat cumbersome to carry around, with a Gitzo tripod and Wimberley head, it has served me well. I now use it probably 90% of the time. I am always learning but have made significant inroads both in grasping the camera basics as well as anticipating wildlife behavior. Being cognizant that there is always room for improvement,I welcome all comments. I hope you enjoy perusing my gallery(s) of photos and thank you for stopping by .....
