Mr Reynolds, I have to blow my own trumpet but I have close friends in Marcross and have known the area since I was seven (76 now). In the beginning of the 90's I went to Sker Farm as I had suddenly come across R D Blackmore's book. I took loads of pictures (now with my friend Thelma). Was really upset at the state of it and I wrote to Prince Charles saying it was a national treasure being a medieval/tudor house as well as being a rare book by Blackmore and part of the history of Wales. I never heard from him but Thelma Cooke in Marcross sent me clippings that Ogmore Council had eventually been able to buy the house and land it went on from there. I do believe I helped in my way. Marvellous website.Any books to buy? thanks!

John, thanks again for viewing my galleries. I like alot of your building shots in your different galleries. What are you using for the wide angle shots? Are any of them HDR?

I googled Reynolds Picture Shop hoping to find some information on a photographer by the name of Reynolds who owned that shop in a very small town of Collinsville Texas. I have pictures taken in 1926 of the original TP&L Construction crew and of local threshers with their machines working the crops. There was also several pictures of our small town on the night the electric power was turned on for the first time. Did you have family or relatives who lived in Texas in the 1920's who also did photography? Just a wild chance, I know...but sometimes strange things happen! Liked your pictures, also.

John,
Lovely pictures and subjects. My mother's father was from Llangolyn
and named Reynolds. Looks like a nice place to live.

Feeling pangs of homesickness I 'Googled' Umberslade and found your Hockley Heath pictures. I now live in Chicago with a panaroma of city lights, Lake Michigan with iceburgs in the winter and beach life in the summer but I was transported back to t0 1978 when my husand, daughter and I were the first to move into Umberslade. The fallen tree in the bluebell wood looks so like the one at the back of the Pets Graveyard - if you climb over the old wire fence between Umberslade and the land behind the old Nursery. Whereever, I will dream tonight of the walk down The Mile from my front gate to Tanworth. Thank you for beaming me back in time. Carolyn

Hello John,
Thanks for your comment on my gallery.
I've been perusing your photographs on your Welsh landscape site, and particularly impressed with the Wye Valley ones. The two of the River Wye near Rhayader deserve wide viewing. Have you tried submitting them to magazines?

Regards,
Keith Berry

Hi John,
Firstly thank you so much for visiting my gallery and commenting, it is much appreciated.
I very much enjoyed browsing your galleries at length, you have captured some wonderful images on your travels.
It seems we share some common interests and have visited identical locations up and down the UK, I recognised so many familiar views from your shots.
Keep up the good work and I will definitely be back soon to see where your travels have taken you.
Very best wishes to you.
